Our Story
Turning Storms into New Beginnings
In 2020, Kendrick and Melissa Burrage—still currently a middle school teacher and a school social worker—faced a life-changing challenge when a powerful storm damaged their home. Suddenly, they found themselves navigating the maze of insurance claims and roofing repairs. Through this experience, they realized that many homeowners, like them, felt lost when it came to advocating for their rights. Driven to fill this gap, Kendrick and Melissa went from not just guiding students in classrooms to guiding their community through recovery, founding Burrage Roofing in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois.
But they didn’t stop there! In 2021, they took things to the next level with Roofing Educators, expanding their mission to South Carolina’s Lowcountry. Roofing Educators was born to help homeowners make informed decisions, empowering them with the knowledge to tackle even the trickiest insurance claims and install the best roofing systems possible! To fuel this mission, they brought on Cole Middleton as President, an expert in insurance claims advocacy, and Tyler Shockley, a South Carolina native with deep family ties to the roofing industry, as Vice President.
Today, Burrage Roofing continues to proudly serve Iowa and Illinois, while Roofing Educators leads the way in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
